What’s Your Best Advice?

Last Issue's Dilemma:

Anyone have some healthy advice?

We're moving into our busy show season, and as in past years, it coincides with flu season. This year, the advance warnings on the flu seem even more dire than usual. How can I "flu-proof" our exhibit staff -- and guests -- over the next few months? Should I have our staff wear gloves? Provide hand sanitizers at each demo station? Forbid handshaking? Or what?

-- Leslie, Meeting Planner     See what our readers have to say.

This Issue's Dilemma:

Greta Garbo had the right idea.

This '40s actress was known for saying, "I want to be alone," and boy, do I know what she meant! A few months ago, I hired an employee to join my team. "Tom" shows great potential, but he's very unsure of himself, and he asks to talk to me "for just a sec" several times a day. These interruptions make it difficult for me to get my own work done. As his supervisor, what should I do?
