Part 2: Getting the glory shot

by Patrick St. Clair, Owner of St. Clair Photo-Imaging

In last month's installment, Patrick St. Clair discussed how you can determine which type of photographer and photography are right for you. After you've worked out these issues, the next thing for you to consider is how to get the glory shot, that picture that's supposed to make your booth look its absolute best.

The glory shot ... A career in flux ... Too much travel

Hello. I'm Rob Murphy, chief marketing officer for MC².

In last month's issue, Patrick St. Clair, owner of St. Clair Photo-Imaging, described how to choose the appropriate photography and photographer for your booth. In the second installment of his two-part feature article, St. Clair explores the glory shot and explains how you can get it.

Recently, a reader asked if she should leave her current job, considering the current economic climate. See what our readers have to say. Almost any time a layoff occurs, those who survive the cuts are expected to take on extra responsibilities. So, what can you do when this new work involves excessive travel, making it hard to keep on top of your own duties? That's what one reader wants to know.

Respond to this dilemma or take our one-minute survey, and we'll enter your name into a drawing for a gift certificate for a dinner for two.

GE event

The Challenge: To create an effective, technologically advanced and visually compelling three-day forum for 400 GE Healthcare executives from around the world who will convene for strategic analysis and planning.

The Solution: The 31-member project team needed a collaborative technology solution to manage constantly evolving floor plans, 38 presentations, agendas, videos, and a Forward Briefing Web site capable of 1,200 downloads a week and recognition. Post-event, the team needed a means to distribute information to managers worldwide who would be cascading information to their teams.

See how GE Healthcare stayed "healthy."

What’s Your Best Advice?

Last Issue's Dilemma:

Should I stay or should I go?

I've been at my current company for eight years, and during that time, I've done a variety of jobs within marketing. Times are tough internally and externally, so I'm struggling with the question "Do I move on?" What advice can you offer on making the move?

This Issue's Dilemma:

On the road again ... and again ... and again

My company "downsized" for a second time a couple of months ago, and since then, management expects me to cover for the laid-off employees, meeting with potential customers at their offices and tradeshows (where we don’t have a booth). Being out so much is making it hard for me to get my work done. Any ideas on how I can decrease the travel -- and/or keep my own assignments on track?
